Antique wooden furniture can be found in different states, that is, more or less worn. There are old furniture that will only need a superficial cleaning as you would do with a new piece of furniture, but there are others that do need greater care, especially in cleaning.

Follow these steps to clean old wooden furniture:

  1. We recommend using a mixture of vinegar and olive oil. If the furniture is in intermediate condition due to the number of years it has been used, then you can use lemon juice liberally. On the other hand, if the furniture is already somewhat damaged or very damaged, we do not recommend lemon.
  2. Soak a sponge in the mixture and wipe it over the surface of the furniture for a deeper clean than a rag or cloth. If you do not need a very deep cleaning, use a cotton cloth moistened with the mixture to clean the surface with gentle movements. This solution will remove dust, grease and other dirt present on the wood.
  3. Wipe with a damp cloth with just a little water to finish removing any loose debris on the wood.
  4. Let the furniture dry for about 30 minutes and proceed to wipe it with a cloth soaked in glycerin or furniture wax to recover some of the wood’s shine.
