- Iron
Steps to follow:
1
Place an ironing board in a well-lit area near an outlet. Moisten the shirt with a spray bottle filled with tap water, allowing the moisture to distribute well through the fabric.
2
Fill the iron’s water tank with distilled water following the manufacturer’s instructions. Distilled water protects the iron from mineral buildup. Check the type of fabric, usually the label is located on the inside of the collar of the shirt. Set the iron temperature to the heat that corresponds to your fabric type. For example, if the label on the inside of the collar says, “100 percent cotton,” adjust the iron’s heat setting for cotton fabrics. When the iron is hot, activate the steam function.
3
Unroll the shirt moist. Press the tip of the iron on the neck edge points towards the center. Rotate your neck and repeat the process.
4
Press the yoke of the sleeve. The yoke is the part of the back that attaches to the neck. Stretch the shirt toward the sharp end of the ironing board. Adjust the shirt so the back yoke lies flat on the board.
5
Next iron the sleeves. The sleeve must be fully extended on the ironing board. If there is a fold at the top of the shirt, iron following that fold, so the top fold corresponds with the original fold on the shirt.
6
Iron the body of the shirt. Place the side of the shirt on the left, in the ironing board. Start ironing from the top of the shirt, continuing to the bottom edge of the shirt. Adjust the shirt as necessary. Then repeat the process on the right side.
7
put the shirt on a hanger, making sure the shoulders of the shirt are sitting on the hanger correctly.
