Dampen the stained area of the fabric with water. It doesn’t have to be soaked, just wet enough to activate your bar of soap.

Rub a bar of soap on the stain. Bar soap will help break up the stain and make it easier to remove.

Soak the fabric in vinegar for half an hour. Check periodically to see if the stain has come out.

Wash clothes as normal to remove the vinegar smell.

When you leave the washing machine you will be able to see how detergent stains have been removed from your clothes and you can now put them back on as normal.
